What kind of budget should a female plan on at the beginning of the training season, as far as her own personal nutrition needs. Where are the best deals found (online vs local stores)?

Fun question: If you could do any race in the world (besides Kona/Olympics/Clearwater), what would it be?

I meant to get this in on Monday: I just heard about the American Triple T and really want to do it. Problem is, I’m doing Ironman Louisville this year. Is it crazy to try this 6 weeks after an Ironman? Will my training be enough? What about recovery?

HI Brendan, Broccoli, kale, and lettuce can get a little boring – would you please share some of your own tips on how to make healthy vegan foods more exciting? Or would you have any recommendations on where to find good recipes? Thank you, Kerstin

Hi Brendan, Do you have any recommendations for foods that are particularly good at increasing Ca absorption? Thanks, Kerstin

Hi Brendan, Have you incorporated chia seed into your diet? If yes, in what way? I was curious about using chia in its gelatin form to create some sort of custom drink for the bike. On that note, do you ever create your own nutrition power drinks/smoothies for your really long training rides? If yes, can you share an example? Thanks so much!!! & Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Annie

Hey Brendan, my wife is doing her first marathon (Vancouver! Have you done it?) this May. What are your top 3 tips for someone during their first marathon (assuming of course that they are prepared and ready to do the distance)? When is the typical ‘moment of truth’ for a first timer (she’s shooting for sub-4hr…)

Hi Brendan, nice to see a fellow Canuck on the teleseminar! I’m in the process of transforming my running, and the best thing I’ve done was add speed and technique. I’ve been testing my HR zones for running monthly. However, now when I run at zone 2, my pace is so much higher than last year (under 5min/km vs. 7min/km). I have trouble mentally thinking I can last at this pace for the full IM marathon. Since I haven’t done a full marathon yet (doing IM Canada for first time this year), should I back off on my long runs and go by feel (i.e. what I think I could hold for full marathon), or continue to push myself at this higher pace? Obviously, I don’t want to blow up in the last half of the run.

Hello, I would like some examples of optimal recovery meals that meet the following criteria. The food must be able to stay in a car for several hours. I never have access to a kitchen within 20 minutes from a workout, but I can carry a cooler in the car. All of the snacks must be dairy free. All of them will be eaten within the 20 minutes of completing a workout. Please give an example for a recovery snack for each of the following types of workouts. #1 a 60 min swim workout, #2 a 70 – 90 minute tempo run, #3 a 120 minutes of hard spin, #4 an 80+ min slower endurance swim, #5 a 2 to 4 hour run endurance run, and #6 a 2 to 6 hour endurance bike ride. I am a female and am 34 year old and don’t have a high burn rate. Thanks so much for all the great information! Annie
